AMS is in its 5th year of business and serves a diverse customer base across North America. While we are a
relatively young company, we have experienced growth over the past 5 years.
A little about our history: A small existing company, located in southern Indiana, was purchased in 2002 - SNS
Wire. The purchased company focused solely on Wire EDM services. Recognizing the need to diversify and
the limitations of a company named solely for Wire EDM services, Advanced Machining Systems was
founded. The name Advanced Machining Systems was chosen as it truly reflects what this business is about:
Providing 'state of the art' machining services.
Over the past few years, equipment was purchased to support our growth and satisfy the needs of our
customers. In 2009 we were offered the opportunity to move our business to Louisville, Kentucky. We
relocated to one of our main customer's facilities - MADies. It was truly a "win - win" for both businesses but
especially for us as we moved into a modern facility and are better able to serve all of our customers.
AMS is an engineer owned and managed company. Managing Partner, Chris Deptola ( BS - University of
Pittsburgh, MS - Lehigh University ), has previously worked extensively in the aluminum industry for Alcan
Aluminum and Reynolds Metals Company. During his tenure in the aluminum industry he held the positions
of Engineer, Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager, Operations Manager, Plant Manager and CI
Champion (Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt ). As such, Mr. Deptola has a good working knowledge of
managing in larger organizations and is gaining a knowledge of what it takes to grow a small business.
The common variable for successful businesses, of any size, is customer satisfaction. AMS clearly
recognizes this and strives to exceed our customer's expectations. True to our Mission Statement, we
believe that if we offer our customers exceptional quality, on-time delivery and competitive pricing, we will
delight our customers and continue to grow.
